On 12 October 2016, “Global Developments” Fund with the financial support of the European Training Foundation (ETF) and with the close collaboration of the Methodological Centre for Professional Orientation (MCPO) organised workshop for career guidance co-ordinators in VET institutions of Armenia. It was the final workshop in a series of capacity building activities of the ETF, in co-operation with the MCPO of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, which took place since 2013 with the aim to modernise and improve career guidance services in VET in Armenia.
According to the needs expressed in the last workshop in October 2015, the main focus of the workshop was put on “Why and how to work with employers in the field of career guidance“, including the issue of labour market and career information. Career guidance co-ordinators of VET institutions were invited to share their experience and to jointly develop new perspectives and actions in this area.
The workshop was facilitated by Chris Evans, the ETF international expert, and MCPO experts.
The proposed main points were.
Employers’ perspective on recruitment and training of staff / Employers’ expectations from VET colleges / career coordinators.
- Taking stock of success stories and challenges in working with employers.
- What can be done better / new ways of working with employers?
- Which kind of support is needed?
